About EMpulse Magazine

The Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) publishes EMpulse Magazine: an annual publication and online magazine that includes reports from FCEP’s committees, updates from Florida’s 22 emergency medicine residency programs, scientific articles, and other news relevant to the field of emergency medicine. 

All articles are published on EMpulse Online under the direction of an Editorial Committee. The print publication is a complimentary benefit for FCEP members and other key stakeholders in emergency care, containing an annual report on FCEP’s activities.

Write for EMpulse

EMpulse accepts content from qualified writers on a rolling basis. You do not have to be an FCEP member or emergency physician to contribute, but your article must be relevant to the emergency medicine industry. Submitting an article does not guarantee inclusion.

1. Send in your Article for EMpulse Online

Submit your final article through this form to be considered for publication on EMpulse Online. Articles will be reviewed by FCEP’s Editorial Committee, and authors will be informed of approval, rejection or requests for edits.

Space is limited in the annual print publication and content will be determined by the Editorial Committee. You may request inclusion in the print publication when you submit your article, but this does not guarantee inclusion.

Your article submission should include:

  • The full title of your article
  • Author byline(s) (full name, credentials, titles and affiliations)
  • Your final article
  • Graphics and/or photos with captions (if applicable)
  • References (required for research and case reports)
  • Any relevant disclosures (if applicable)

Please submit your final article as a Word document or Google Doc.

Advertise in EMpulse Fall/Winter 2023

Advertise in the annual publication to FCEP members at the end of the year.

Traditional Print Ad:

Sponsored Article: 

A 450-word article promoting your company product, etc. All sponsored articles receive a dedicated page, meaning there will be no advertisements from other companies on your page (print or digital). Articles may be submitted as a Word document or as a print-ready PDF with 0.125″ bleeds.

Submission Checklist

Your sponsored article submission should include:

  • Title of the article
  • Author’s byline (full name, credentials, titles)
  • Author’s mailing address (the company address will be captured through the Insertion Order)
  • Author’s head shot (high resolution)
  • Sponsoring company logo (high resolution)
  • If graphics &/or photos are included: captions and photo credits required

NewPrint ads come with a complimentary, online bonus: banner ads on article webpages.

To help print advertisers extend their reach online, each print ad now comes with a number of complimentary banner ads you can submit for that issue.

Design Specs:

  • All banner ads are standard leaderboard size: 728px w by 90px h
  • All ads should link to a URL. Tracking codes must be attached to your URL before submitting. EMpulse staff are not responsible for tracking and sending statistics for your ad.
  • No revisions to your banner ad design or link will be accepted once your ad is published. Ad designs and links must be final upon submission.

This is an exclusive benefit for companies advertising through print ads in EMpulse Magazine. Banner ads cannot be purchased individually at this time. Print advertisers are not required to submit banner ads; it is an optional, free benefit. Print advertisers can only submit banner ads for the issue they are advertising in; they cannot be transferred to another issue. If you have specific articles in mind that you’d like your banner ad to appear on, please let the managing editor know. We will do our best to accommodate all requests; specific placements are not guaranteed.
