Emergency Medicine Days

Emergency Medicine Days is Florida College of Emergency Physicians’ premier advocacy event, bringing together emergency medicine physicians, residents, and medical students from across the state to engage with lawmakers and shape the future of emergency care. Over the course of this event, participants meet directly with state legislators, attend policy briefings, and gain valuable insight into the legislative process. By amplifying the collective voice of emergency medicine, Emergency Medicine Days ensures that critical issues impacting patient care, physician practice, and the health care system remain at the forefront of state policy discussions.

Emergency Medicine Days 2026 brought 49 Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) members to Tallahassee for one of the strongest EM Days turnouts in recent years. Participants met with state legislators to discuss key priorities impacting emergency medicine and patient care, including physician safety and protections for personal information, workforce sustainability, and access to timely, high-quality emergency care for all Floridians.

FCEP appreciates all who contributed to the success of EM Days 2026 and the strong engagement from legislators throughout the event. These conversations ensure the voices of emergency physicians are heard and play a critical role in advancing a safer, more sustainable future for emergency medicine in Florida.

This year, 26 members of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians engaged with more than 40 legislators during Emergency Medicine Days 2025 (EM Days 2025), advocating for key priorities that impact emergency care in Florida. Their commitment to advancing emergency medicine underscores the crucial role of physician advocacy in shaping healthcare policy.

FCEP also celebrated a record-breaking turnout at its Legislative Reception, where the strong presence of lawmakers reinforced essential connections. These engagements ensured that the voices of emergency physicians were heard, helping to drive meaningful discussions on the future of emergency care.
