The Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP), in conjunction with the Florida Emergency Medicine Foundation (FEMF), invites you to present at its 54th Annual Meeting: Symposium by the Sea 2025. Help advance best practices in emergency medicine by contributing your knowledge and expertise through continuing education for your colleagues.
Symposium by the Sea participants include emergency physicians, residents, nurses, physician assistants and medical students. Your presentation should be tailored appropriately for this audience.
The Planning Committee is looking for evidence-based content on the following subjects:
· Pediatrics
· Resuscitation, critical care and trauma
· Billing & Coding
· Diversity, Inclusion, and Health Equity
· Resilience & wellness
· Resident & student education
· Toxicology
· Sports Medicine
· Wilderness/Disaster Medicine
· Evidence-Based Healthcare and Implementation
· New technologies in emergency medicine (e.g., Artificial Intelligence)
· Professional development and leadership
· EM workforce
· Other relevant topics that are cutting edge in advancing emergency medicine
· Skills labs (60-120 mins)
· Rapid fire sessions (25 mins)
If you are interested in presenting at Symposium by the Sea 2025, please fill out the online application by January 31, 2025. All faculty receive free conference registration and are encouraged to attend other events at SBS 2025.

The poster session will be open to all medical students, emergency medicine residents, emergency medicine fellows, faculty and any practicing physician in Florida. Topics can include the broad range of issues involving emergency medicine practice, education research, innovations in education and clinical as well as basic science research.
The Case Presentation Conference Competition is open to all emergency medicine residents in Florida. Residents from each of the selected programs will deliver discussions of the initial approach, differential diagnosis and final impression of an unknown ED case from one of the other programs. Only one team per program will be permitted
The Second Annual EM Quiz Bowl is open to all emergen
cy medicine residents in Florida in which programs gather for a competition focused on medical knowledge application in trivia and debate-style formats. Registration is limited to one team per program, three residents per team.
The Inaugural Drop the Mic Competition is open to all medical students, emergency medicine residents, emergency medicine fellows, faculty, and any practicing physician in Florida. Speakers compete for a chance to win a coveted speaker position for SBS25! Up to 15 selected participants will give an exciting lecture in fewer than 6 minutes with automatically advancing slides.

This exciting event allows residents to showcase their ultrasound skills and compete for top honors. Resident competitors can be identified at a later date: Registration is limited to one team per program, three residents per team!
ACCME: The Emergency Medicine Learning and Resource Center (EMLRC) is accredited
by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide
continuing medical education for physicians.
EMLRC designates this Live activity for a maximum of 16.5 AMA PRA Category 1
Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their
participation in the activity.
FPA: The Emergency Medicine Learning and Resource Center (EMLRC) is approved as a
provider of continuing medical education by the Board of Florida Physician Assistants;
Provider #50715. A maximum of 16.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ will be provided by
EMLRC.
AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA
PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME or a recognized
state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 16.5 hours of
Category 1 credit for completing this activity.
FBON: The Emergency Medicine Learning and Resource Center (EMLRC) is approved as a
provider of nursing education by the Florida Board of Nursing, Provider #2731. Up to
16.5 nursing contact hours will be provided
