FSU at Sarasota Memorial Fall 2025 Update

As we reflect on a busy summer and look ahead to the opportunities this fall brings, our program is proud to share highlights from our FSU-Sarasota community.
We recently celebrated the graduation of our fourth residency class! Four of our graduates have begun fellowships in a variety of fields, including EMS, Pain Management, and Simulation. We are thrilled to have retained five of our nine graduates—one joining as a fellow in our EMS program, two signing on as attendings, and two becoming junior faculty members of our residency program: Dr. Aaron Grossberg and Dr. Jessie Cable. They are joined by two new adjunct faculty members: Dr. Andrew Kropp, who also serves as core faculty for our hospital’s EMS fellowship, and Dr. Danielle Glaze, an FSU graduate who recently completed her ultrasound fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami.
Our new intern class is settling into residency life and exceeding expectations. As always, we enjoyed our annual boat day and other wellness events, a cornerstone of our program led by our resident wellness director, Dr. Maxwell Davison-Kerwood (aka “Maxwellness”), along with our faculty wellness directors and the Florida State GME administration. Thanks to their support, this year’s interns were able to attend their first conference as resident physicians at FCEP Symposium by the Sea in Ft. Lauderdale. Several residents participated in competitions, including Dr. Rakael Brown (PGY-3), who successfully defended her 2024 title and placed first in the CPC Case Discussant category!
We are also excited to announce the opening of the Kolschowsky Research and Education Institute, a new stand-alone facility that houses a state-of-the-art simulation center, resident lounges, didactic classrooms, medical library, and expanded resources for research and academics. In addition, we are welcoming a new full-time faculty member, Dr. Martin Kim, who will serve as one of our Simulation Directors. We look forward to the opportunities this facility will provide and are deeply grateful to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for its commitment to strengthening the research infrastructure and academic culture of our institution.
As the season changes, we are filled with anticipation for what lies ahead. Best wishes from our program to yours!
