(ORLANDO, FLA.) – After 33 years of service to the Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource Center (EMLRC) and the Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP), Beth Brunner, MBA, CAE has resigned as CEO/Executive Director for family reasons.

Ms. Brunner’s dedication to public safety and the emergency medicine industry cannot be overstated. Within four years of becoming FCEP’s executive director, Ms. Brunner founded its sister organization—the EMLRC—to meet the unique, educational needs of emergency care providers and first responders. Over the past 30 years, the EMLRC has provided lifesaving continuing education to over 50% of Florida’s EMS agencies, fire departments and emergency physicians.

Ms. Brunner tirelessly advocated for emergency care providers and the patients they serve by forming sustainable partnerships with local, state and national organizations. She also invested in the professional growth of countless emergency physicians, who are now CEOs of hospitals, presidents of medical societies and other significant leadership positions.

Under her leadership, FCEP has grown into a vibrant organization with substantial influence and credibility. We wish her the best in her future endeavors and look forward to honoring her legacy by continuing her work.

Niala Ramoutar, the Director of Education for FCEP and EMLRC, has been named Interim CEO as the Board of Directors begin their search for Ms. Brunner’s successor.
