Invest in Emergency Medicine on this #GivingTuesday

by Samantha League, MA | Nov 29, 2022 | Announcements

If 30 individuals make a donation to FCEP or FEMF for the first time, an FCEP past president will donate $1,000 to each fund, too. Donate now!

The Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) has been the voice of emergency physicians and the patients they serve for over 51 years. Our founders helped create and legitimize the specialty of emergency medicine, and now, it is our job to preserve it.

As a membership organization, FCEP represents you. We work on your behalf, educating emergency medicine providers and advocating for state policies that help your patients and your practice. We rely on your support, financial and otherwise, to achieve our goal of advancing emergency care in Florida.

On this Giving Tuesday, make a contribution to your state chapter. We have two funds you can contribute to:

Advocacy: FCEP's Political Action Committee (PAC)

The FCEP PAC directly supports state advocacy efforts. All FCEP members—along with emergency physician groups, billing & management companies, and other organizations that support emergency medicine—are encouraged to contribute their part in the fight for access to high quality emergency care.
(Donations are not tax-deductible)

Education: FEMF's Capital Campaign

The Florida Emergency Medicine Foundation (FEMF) provides general support to all of EMLRC’s educational programs, which target all emergency medical providers, ranging from EMTs to physicians.
(Donations are tax deductible. Federal Tax ID #59-3001777)

This is the perfect time to make your first donation, too: FCEP past-president Dr. Steven Kailes has pledged an additional $2,000 if each fund receives 15 new donors!

Choose a fund (or both) and make an investment in your specialty today:

FCEP advocates for state policy that protects Florida’s patients and the way you practice medicine. You can learn about our recent accomplishments in Dr. Damian Caraballo’s President’s Message here. Get involved by attending the next EM Days on March 28-30, 2023 in Tallahassee, FL!

FCEP educates the entire emergency medicine community through FEMF/EMLRC and other partnerships. The EMLRC is accredited to provide continuing education for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, advanced practice clinicians, and physicians. Every year, we host a variety of events and conferences in addition to online education that is often free for a limited time. Check out our newest online and free series, Bytes That You Can View.

FCEP provides an annual forum for Florida’s emergency physicians to come together, share information, and grow professionally. Our annual meeting, Symposium by the Sea, gives members the chance to spend one last summer weekend vacationing with their families while earning CME and networking with colleagues. Save the date for next year: August 3-6, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point!

FCEP recently documented its history in the 50 Years, 50 Voices project through a tribute video and timeline. Learn more about the fight for your specialty here.
