Hey everyone! Hope this update finds you well in the midst of application and audition rotation season! 

This is a unique year in the AdventHealth EM program as we have added an additional resident to the intern class! Previously, we had six (6) residents per class. However, with this incoming class, we have expanded to seven (7) in hopes of growing the program. As exciting as having incoming interns is, the absence of our 2023 graduating seniors is felt, and they are surely missed as we move up into our new roles with greater responsibility. 

Each year carries its prospective challenges. As an intern, I was worried not only about picking up enough patients but beginning to follow patients from start to disposition and being responsible for their outcome. Now, it’s more of a challenge to push myself into seeing more patients per hour and being aware of what else is going on in the department at all times. It will be exciting to see the new class blossom as the year unfolds and they start getting comfortable with how the system works. When you understand your responsibilities and can meet the expectations, the shifts start becoming less stressful and a lot more fun!
