by fcepadmin | Feb 18, 2020 | Announcements

Interested in representing FCEP at ACEP’s annual Council Meeting? We are now accepting applications for seven (7) open councillor positions for the 2020-21 term.

Requirements:
a) FCEP member in good standing
b) Active involvement in FCEP (serving on a committee, attending BOD meetings, etc.)
c) Plans to attend Councillor meetings during their 2-year term

Application Deadline: April 30, 2020
Election Date: Board of Directors May 2020 meeting

About the Position:

The ACEP Council is a deliberative body that meets once a year for two days in conjunction with ACEP’s Scientific Assembly. The Council votes on resolutions and proposed changes to ACEP’s Bylaws and elects members to the Board of Directors. Members representing ACEP’s 53 chapters, its sections of membership and its affiliate organizations serve as councillors and contribute to the leadership and development of ACEP policy. Learn more about the Council here.

State chapters receive one (1) councillor, plus one (1) additional councillor for every 100 members. FCEP has received 22 councillor positions for ACEP20 on October 26-29, 2020 in Dallas, TX.

Councillors are expected to familiarize themselves with FCEP resolutions, position statements and overall activities prior to attending the national meeting. Ideally, councillors are engaged in chapter and Board activities throughout the year to best reflect the will of FCEP members.

Members may run for consecutive terms, and there is no limit on how many terms a member can serve.

Alternate councillors will be chosen from those not elected for councillor positions. Should a councillor be unable to attend a Council meeting, the remaining councillors will select the alternate councillor to be seated in his or her place. Should a Councillor resign or be elected to office, the remaining councillors will elect an alternate councillor to fill the unexpired term.
